Week 25 had a rough start for me. I was having a lot of pain in my right hip and it really hurt to walk. Fortunately, I was able to get into the massage therapist and that seems to have helped. But, it still made for a crabby week. I keep reading/hearing there will be a week when you realize your body is in for a big task & perhaps this week was it for me. Although, I'm sure this will feel easy-breezy after a few more weeks (you know how it goes!). The belly is growing more & more each day. It seems to extend one week & then round out the next. Some days are more comfortable than others & I'm finding it harder & harder to fit into spaces, bend over, get out of bed, etc. In fact, last night Matt & I went out to eat and, out of habit, I took the side of the table with less space. We both got a chuckle out of my needing him to move the table closer to him. I just forget how much space I take up now. LOL!
Not much else is really new. I've been trying to organize everything we've gotten as gifts so that I can keep track of things. Our house is a mess, but we're looking pretty solid as far as gear goes! I also got our paperwork into the hospital. It was very weird to write "mother" in the Relationship to Patient section. Our moments of realization that we're soon-to-be-parents happen more frequently. We find ourselves watching a lot of Bringing Home Baby and reading a lot of Infant Care books. :)
As far as the babies go, they had a big week. Their nostrils have opened and their lungs are starting to form arteries. Viability increases greatly each week after Week 24. They can also "hear" now. Their eardrums formed a few weeks ago, but their brains had not yet formed neurotransmitters so they really could only "feel" sound. Now they are able to process it, though they have no real understanding of what they are hearing as they have nothing to relate it to. However, they can get startled by loud sounds or respond to beats of music. I have not yet noticed either responses, though I do feel them moving a lot throughout the day.
I hope all of you have had a great week & thanks for checking in!
