Week 30 Update

And, we've made it to the 30s!  Hip, hip, hooray!  The doctor visit went well.  I had to take the 3 hour glucose test (gestational diabetes) because I failed my first one by 3 points.  However, the results are already back and I was well within the range of normal on this one.  They also did a pre-term labor check on me and those results came back negative as well.  It is supposed to indicate that I will not go into labor for the next two weeks, though I'm hearing these are not very reliable.  Oh, well, I've learned babies like to be as unpredictable as possible, so we'll just go with the flow & hope we make it to at least 34 weeks.  My doctor says pregnancy is like baking cupcakes.  Right now, our little cupcakes are still batter.  At 34 weeks, they are cake.  By 36, we have icing.  By 38, we've added sprinkles.  By 40, I'm going to look like a Macy's Parade balloon so I'm not even going there...LOL.

Matt just returned from his trip to Illinois.  His cousin Ellen's wedding was last weekend and it was quite a lovely event (from what I saw on the video!).  Congratulations, Ellen & Chris!  We're so happy for you!  He enjoyed spending time with the family, but said it threw him off a bit when his mom said, "Next time we see you, you'll be a dad!"  :)

School is winding down for me.  Only a few weeks left.  I've managed to get all the main stuff buttoned down so that no one is stuck wondering what I didn't get done.  It's a huge relief.  This is my first year heading up the district's textbooks & it's quite a task.  However, it's all gone relatively smoothly and everyone is being extremely helpful.  Now if they could only find someone to take over Student Council.  Either way, tough breaks--  I've got all the stuff boxed up & ready to hand over.  I thought I might feel a little more sad about it, but I'm actually kind of glad to be done with it.  I'm not sure how Ann & I will exercise our creativity next year, but I'm sure we'll come up with something (it's highly likely that the twins' first birthday will be slightly over-the-top and *may* involve some pyrotechnics, strobe lights, and balloon statues).  I think all of you should just be happy Kristie is in Germany.  I think all three of us on one project in one room might just raise the National Security Level.

Well, I hope all of you are doing well & getting geared up for summer.  Have a great day & thanks for checking in!
