Everything is still going well, no news to report. I am still going in twice a week for basic testing-- all of which is looking just fine. I go tomorrow for what will probably be my last Level II sonogram. It's always a fun appointment because we get to see the babies on the big screen, but, anymore, we only get to see bits & pieces because they are getting so big. However, this appointment will tell us more about how much they weigh which I'm anxious to know.
The belly is ever-growing. While not complaining, it does become quite cumbersome at times. Sometimes I forget & I nearly get stuck in spaces or I bend over & nearly pass out because it squishes all the air out of my lungs. I've gained just over 40 lbs. now. I'm not sure how much I'll gain in the next few weeks. I'm reading that the babies will be gaining quite a bit & my blood volume will increase which should put on the pounds rather quickly. But, what I hear from most twin moms is that I'll go back & forth-- one week gaining, the next week losing a few or hovering. The babies will still be taking what they need, it'll just come from the reserve. Hopefully by "reserve" they mean "rear end." :)
Matt & I have really been busy preparing the house. He's doing odd jobs & I've been cleaning. I have my summer cleaning routine that I'm trying to get done as I know it will be a long time before I'll have the time/energy for these things. However, it's taking me forever to do what normally took me a morning. Still, it feels nice to know the room is clean from top to bottom so I'll just keep trudging along as my energy and ability allow. This weekend I focused on the kitchen & living room. I even got some of the baby stuff set up so we're ready to go...
I set up one of our Pack & Plays downstairs so the babies could sleep/be contained in the space where we spend a lot of time. I also got the bouncy seats & swing set up so we could see what we were dealing with. I cleaned out some cabinets for bottles and used the baskets on the bookshelf for blankets, bibs, and burp cloths. Any bets on how many times things get rearranged? :)
Thanks, as always for checking in! It won't be much longer now!
